2017 Adventure Team Challenge athletes

Our Organization

World T.E.A.M.creates challenging athletic programs that bring together adaptive and able bodied citizens. Since our very first inclusive event in 1987, we change lives through challenges as diverse as cycling, mountain climbing, white water rafting, sea kayaking, adventure sports and more.

Our corporate Financial Documents page offers detailed financial information about our organization, including IRS Form 990s for most years since 1994 and several past annual reviews.

In 2018, approximately 93 percent of all incoming financial support was applied directly to cover the costs of our programs and our participating athletes. Face of America Gettysburg is our primary fundraising program for the year, helping support other programs from World T.E.A.M. from Colorado to New York.

Chartered as a national 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 1993, World T.E.A.M. is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts with financial offices in Holbrook, New York.

Our Mission Statement

World T.E.A.M. brings adaptive and able-bodied athletes together by empowering, enabling and engaging individuals through inclusive athletic programs.

For more than 25 years, our organization has used athletics to challenge and empower men, women and children with disabilities to accomplish goals they never thought possible. In all our programs, from mountain climbing, cycling, white water rafting, and many other sports, we include both adaptive and able-bodied participants.

In addition to our annual Adventure Team Challenge in Colorado’s high country, World T.E.A.M. creates and manages other outdoor programs that empower lives for adaptive and able-bodied athletes in several states. These programs include our annual Face of America Gettysburg cycling challenge to Gettysburg, our Adventure Team Challenges in New York’s Catskill Mountains and suburban Washington D.C. for youth; and our Coastal Team Challenge along the southern coast of Long Island, New York.

Our Team

As a non-profit organization, World T.E.A.M. depends on the support of our valuable volunteers nationwide to help us create and manage our inclusive sporting programs. Without their generous support, our organization would be unable to provide exceptional sporting experiences for our participating athletes.

Staff members for our organization include President & CEO Jon Brideau, Logistics Director Howard Hill, Director of Development Patti Haley, and Bookkeeper Rose Porfido. The organization is managed by a knowledgeable and experienced board of directors, led by Chairman James Benson and Vice Chairman Lon Dolber.
